Theme: Manifesting the light by the power of the Spirit
Preacher: Ps. Michael Essel

One can only manifest light when one has light.
Matt 5: 14 makes us understand that we are the light of the world.
It is a state of being i.e. we do not have the light; but we are the light.
Eph 5:8 'You yourselves used to be in the darkness, but since you have become
the Lord's people, you are in the light. So you must live like people who belong
to the light,' explains how we became light.

Darkness in this context means not being born again and the devil is the head of darkness.
We were darkness the letter to the Ephesians makes us understand. But God moved us from
darkness to light. He took us as sinners and brought us into righteousness. This makes
us light in the Kingdom of Light. Believers illuminate the world because light is of
immeasurable importance especially to this dark world. Light refers to eternal life.

The theme simply manifesting eternal life. It means showing the quality of God. It also
means manifesting God. But it says 'manifesting' because it is not automatic to shine
as light. We have to show forth, demonstrate, to reveal the light. We can manifest the
light of God when we understand that we are light. Matt 5.14-16 summaries the church
is the city set on a hill and we, as individual believers are candles.

Finally, Isaiah 60:1 tells us to arise and shine indicating that it is actually within our
abilities. The only question that remains is, "Christians, what are you waiting for?"
