I am Vanessa Ayeh Kwakye, a proud February born and I come from Akropong in the Eastern Region of Ghana. I am the last born of 4 children of my parents.

I had my pre-secondary and secondary education at Wesley International School at Koforidua and Achimota Senior High School respectively.

Life on campus, I would say has been a rollercoaster for me. I did not have my life so planned out in first year, but now I look back and appreciate the growth in many aspects of my life. This growth I owe to God, my leadership experience in NupsG, volunteering experience in Enactus KNUST and Black Sisters in Stem and even the different personalities I’ve encountered in every facet of my journey. With God, the right information, right opportunities and friends, you’d definitely gain your grounds. What keeps me going is knowing that my life must impact others so I strive to be the best version of myself with the help of God.

I see myself as a very determined young lady with a high sense of humor. I love to encourage others when they are down and put smiles on faces of people.

I served as the Music Head for Africa Hall Christian Fellowship for 2 years(2018-2020)

I also served as the Vice President/General Secretary for Royal Generation Choir(RGC) in 2021-2022 academic year.

I was born in a Christian home and heard stories about God in children service. Growing up, I started building the relationship with God in SHS where I joined SU( Scripture Union). KNUST has also been the grounds to help me build my spiritual life.

I joined RGC particularly because I loved music and had wanted to join a contemporary choir to help me build my singing. Joining Royal Generation Choir, I must say has been one of the best decisions I made in KNUST. I have experienced growth in terms of music, spiritual growth and most importantly, I’ve met amazing personalities that have become family.

Sunday services at NupsG are spirit filled, fun and insightful.

Growing up, I always wallowed in low self esteem because I had a defect in my teeth. I was always laughed at in school and that really killed my confidence. I never believed in my capabilities and was shy to speak up or even show my teeth.

How did I overcome?

It started with getting to know my identity in Christ and who He has called me to be. My worth isn’t found in my defects, but in His precious blood. I believed I was born extraordinary for a purpose and that mattered most. Now I can smile without feeling shy of my teeth

I have always learned to set my priorities right such that I do not find myself doing the wrong things at the right time and right things at the wrong time. When it’s time for prayers, I do it diligently and when it’s time for studies, I do it dutifully. Both my spiritual and academic lives are in good shape.

I love reading, writing, listening to music as well as resting.

I have not yet been grabbed, but in my opinion boyfriend- girlfriend relationship isn’t bad. Believers in relationship should make Christ the centre of their relationships and not follow the patterns of this world(sex in relationship, etc)

Refined through Intimacy

Until we allow God to mold, shape us and cut out every dross in us, we cannot be reflect the perfect image of Christ.

To everyone reading and for people yet to read, my message is simple. Know that Christ cares for you and is right there with you even in moments where you feel He is distant .
